On Friday 18th October, the Royal Company of Merchants hosted one of the grandest events of the Company year – the Court Dinner at the Merchants’ Hall. Our Old Masters and Court Assistants rolled out a warm welcome for some of Scotland’s dignitaries and special guests from across the UK, including current Masters from the livery companies of London, Selkirk and Yorkshire.
Our talented piper from ESMS: Erskine Stewart’s Melville Schools made the night unforgettable by providing a truly Scottish reception for all guests in attendance; while the event’s highlight was a keynote address by Ewan Venters OBE, who shared fascinating insights from his career in British luxury food and retail, reflecting on how his professional journey had ultimately taken him from Scotland to London and back again.
