Every year the Company supports its schools in preparing pupils for higher education entrance interviews. Mock interviews usually take place around the October half-term of the S6 year. This support is greatly valued and is often the first formal opportunity pupils have to practice their interview skills. The Education Liaison Committee is seeking Members or Associates to be a part of this rewarding activity and undertake some mock interviews. No prior experience or specialist knowledge is required, merely an interest in encouraging young people to present themselves to their best advantage.
Since Covid, both mock and formal entrance interviews have taken place online and this seems set to continue. For safeguarding reasons, a school staff member is present for all or part of the mock interview. The Company has decided that in order to provide additional comfort to all participants, our mock interviewers should obtain a PVG (protecting vulnerable groups) check. This process will be managed – and financed – by the Company and can take a few weeks to complete.
We would like to involve as many of you as possible in the mock interview process and therefore want to get ahead with the PVG checks. Would anyone interested therefore please contact Andrew Swann, Chair of Education Liaison Committee: andrewmswann@tiscali.co.uk
